Rev. Ronald (Ron) Eugene Clark

Rev. Clark was born on April 30, 1936, in Wilmington, NC. He earned an Electrical Engineering Bachelor of Science degree at Purdue University in 1959. Ron went on to Starr King School of Ministry where he earned a Masters of Divinity Degree. In 1968 he received Preliminary Fellowship, with Final Fellowship achieved on September 28, 1971. He was ordained on November 17, 1968 at May Memorial.

 

Ron served as Associate Minister at May Memorial from 1968-1971, during a time of growth in both adults and youth following Rev. John Fuller’s initial years as minister. He brought several innovative ideas and programs to May Memorial and is remembered fondly by many long-time members. Click here for one of his sermons delivered in Syracuse. From Syracuse he served as minister of First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake City, UT, from 1971-1976, and as minister of First Unitarian Church of Stoneham, MA between 1986 and 1992 where he was granted the honor of Emeritus Minister. He also served the Unitarian Universalist Association as the Department of Extension Director between 1976 and 1981 and as the Director of Church Staff Finance from 1981 to 1985.

 

The Rev. Ronald E. Clark died on August 16, 2006, in Danvers, MA, at the age of 70. He is survived by his wife Sharon and their three children Kevin, Kristen, and Jeffery.
